From the Summer Program Coordinator
The Hargrave Military Academy Summer Program was a huge success! We hosted 62 young men in grades 7-12 for four weeks of learning, enrichment, and fun! The How to Study Program was well-received by students and parents alike. Some students solidified Algebra, Geometry, and English basics, while others explored STEM, Aerodynamics, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership. We traveled to ropes courses, zip-lines, whitewater rafting, the Peaks of Otter, movies, and other fun experiences. Throughout our time together, the boys forged friendships with faculty, staff, and other young men from several states and three countries.
Parents were excited to greet their young men at the end of the four-week program. One parent commented, “He has learned so much and grown a lot as a person during his time at Hargrave. We will talk with him about returning as a full-time student this Fall.”

Summer Weekends
Weekends at Hargrave are filled with excitement and adventure. Whether hiking scenic trails, white water rafting, or riding rollercoasters, there is never a dull moment. The students that don’t leave campus gather to play sports, hang out with their friends, or simply relax in their rooms. The weekends at Hargrave are a perfect blend of fun and adventure, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Recent Grads Spotlight
Sebastian Medina ’23 is attending West Point in the Fall. Medina reported to West Point, NY for Reception Day on June 27 to begin his 47-month experience.
Andrew Francis ’23 is attending the Naval Academy in the Fall. Francis reported to Annapolis, MD for Induction Day on June 29 to begin Plebe Summer.
Shark Tank
Coach Blake Bivens’ Entrepreneurship Class had an interesting final exam. The students collaborated in groups to develop innovative products or businesses, which they then presented to a panel of “sharks.” The students’ grades were determined by the originality of their ideas and their ability to secure a deal with the sharks.
