Varsity Soccer vs. Liberty Christian Academy

The Hargrave Tigers (5-7-1, 3-1) fell to the No. 15 Liberty Christian Bulldogs (11-2-1, 4-0-1), 4-2, backed by a four goal performance by the Bulldog's star forward Abass Ayembillah. The match featured six total goals, 36 shots, and numerous opportunities for both sides.

The Hargrave Tigers (5-6-1, 3-0-0) played to a 3-3 draw against No. 19 Fork Union (3-2-2) on Tuesday that witnessed a thrilling second half and two three-goal performances. Hargrave senior midfielder Scott Dinius recorded all three goals for the Tigers, including the game tying goal with just over 12 minutes to play, as Fork Union forward Mike Jewell also tallied all three goals for his respective side.

On Monday the Hargrave Tigers (2-5) were locked in a tight game with the Carlisle Chiefs (5-2-2), but were left scoreless for the second time this season in the 1-0 loss. The Chiefs scored off of a defensive miscommunication and missed clearance in the 55th minute of play and held on to secure the victory.
Varsity Soccer vs. EMHS Invitational – Paul VI

The Hargrave Tigers (2-4) in their third and final game of the EMHS Invitational met with No. 9 the Panthers of Paul VI (3-4). With the Tigers playing their fourth game in three days and only four hours following their match-up with Christchurch the Tigers took the field with tired and heavy legs. The Tiger fatigued showed as the majority of the match-up was played in Hargrave's half of the field, and the final shot count left the Panthers at a distance, 24-4.

On a cool and early Saturday morning the Hargrave Tigers (2-3) faced off against their second opponent of the EMHS Invitational as they took on the No. 17 Christchurch Seahorses (2-4-1). The Seahorses scored with just under three minutes remaining with a goal from Charly Benhase to avoid overtime and secure the victory.

The Hargrave Tigers kicked off their first home game of the season with a 7-0 win over Roanoke Catholic on Thursday. For the second consecutive game all of Hargrave's goals came at the feet of different goal scorers as the Tigers put 15 of 21 shots on net to test the Catholic goalkeeper on nearly every shot.

The Hagrave Tigers (0-1) opened the season with a loss to the Liberty Christian Bulldogs 2-3 despite a much improved second half performance on Monday. Liberty Chrisitian forward Abass Ayembillah was too much for the Tigers to contain in the first half of play as he scored all of the Bulldogs three goals going into the half.

The Tigers played a hard fought match against Carlisle and were able to pull it out in the end. All of the scoring took place in the second half, with Ian Beliczky putting the ball in the back of the net in the 50th minute of play. Austin Wilson scored on a penalty kick that Oscar Nelson received as he and Carlisle's goalie were going for the same ball. Alnor Rodriguez had 12 saves on the game.

In their second loss of the season, Hargrave played a very good first half of the game, but fell short in the second half. Roanoke Valley scored first but William Franchella was able to tie it up. Hard play continued in the first half to end it 1-2 Roanoke Valley. In the second half, the Tigers let down a bit, and Roanoke capitalized. William Franchella was able to score a second goal late in the game. Alnor Rodriguez, in his mud-caked cleats, had 17 saves.
